I would like to congratulate my colleagues, friends and donors on completion of five years of successful charity work at Hashim Welfare Hospital. We reached this magnificent milestone on 1 June 2008 - to us this means five years of helping deserving people in rural Pakistan. These years have laid a strong foundation for our future charity efforts.

The HWH is providing high quality medical services for the community. Since 1 June 2003 we have treated 78,250 people; 43,250 in the HWH outpatients’ department each for a token ten pence registration fee, waived if they qualified for Zakat (alms contribution), and 35,00 during the earthquake crisis. We have treated 7,495 eye patients and performed 521 eye operations to high standards without any complications |

Dr Awan & Clive Grundy -2001 I believe this affiliation truly started in July 2001 the day Dr Clive Grundy formally joined our charity and Mr Harvey-Hills, my senior colleague at the time, encouraged me to involve Ashford and St Peters Hospital staff in the cause. They have been a great and crucial support as you have seen in many photographs in our annual reports. |

Dear Supporter Bringing three hospitals back into use was a priority. Once we have trained the staff to take responsibility for the day-to-day management, our own people will return to The Hashim Welfare Hospital but continue to offer support and advice whenever it is needed. They will always be affiliated to The Hashim Welfare Hospital and through that association to The Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals NHS Trust in the UK. |
